Signature Site is the result of multiple long-standing leaders coming together in 2023 to create a unified brand across Canada. Our DNA and our history begin in Western Canada in the 1990s and form the foundation of our current nationwide business.
1991
Our Co-Founder, Chris Davies, recognized the need for quality sign and lighting services in British Columbia and founded Chris’s Sign Service in BC’s Lower Mainland.
1991-2000
Chris’s Signs grew significantly in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland markets, becoming a stable service provider for some of Canada’s largest companies in the areas of signage and lighting.
2000s
Chris’s Signs expanded throughout BC, adding service capabilities in the Okanagan and Vancouver Island, and began adding commercial electrical services to complement its sign and lighting offering.
2008
In 2008, Chris and his business partner John Thomasen decided to expand into the Alberta market by founding Westcan Sign and Lighting Service. Westcan grew its roots in the Calgary and Edmonton markets, providing the same sign and lighting services as Chris’s Signs to leading Canadian companies across Alberta.
2010s
Chris’s Signs and Westcan each grew rapidly to become leaders in their respective regions. Chris’s Signs continued its expansion throughout BC, while Westcan expanded into the Canadian prairies.
2010s
The Companies add building repair and renovation capabilities to their suite of services to complement the sign & lighting and electrical offerings
2023
Chris’s Signs and Westcan merge their operations into a single company and brand, Signature Site Services, and take in significant growth investment from new ownership.
2023
Signature Site opens its Toronto-area branch and begins its GTA operations, offering on-the-ground services from BC to Ontario
